Forest utilisation means primarily the planned harvesting of wood in amounts that do not exceed forest productive capability.
It must be realised in a way that would not endanger the biological diversity, productivity, ability to regenerate or any of ecological, economic and social functions of the forest. Sensible forest management ensure the sustainability and possibility of biological restoration of the forest.
